Richard "Rick" Dior (born April 9, 1947 in Los Angeles , California , † October 26, 1998 in Marlboro , New Jersey ) was an American sound engineer. He won the Oscar for Best Sound Mixing for his role in the film Apollo 13 .

Life

From 1970 he worked as a sound engineer in 93 productions, including films such as Zombie , Dirty Dancing , Apollo 13 , Dead Man Walking and Bob Roberts . In 1998, he died of a heart attack at the age of 51. One of his last films was Coffee and Cigarettes by Jim Jarmusch , with whom he already Mystery Train had worked.
