The Pfrunger Ried - Rinkenburg area is a landscape protection area (LSG number 4.36.010) designated by ordinance of October 23, 1967 in the area of the Baden-Württemberg community of Wilhelmsdorf in the Ravensburg district in Germany .
location
The approximately 762 hectares large reserve "Pfrunger Ried - Rinke Castle" is located north of Wilhelmsdorfer town center to the districts Esenhausen , Pfrungen and Wilhelm village and a height of up to 726 m above sea level. NHN . It encloses large parts of the eponymous Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried , the second largest contiguous moor area in southwest Germany, and the Rinkenburg , a tertiary molasse mountain.
Protection purpose
The main purpose is to protect an " Ice Age tongue basin with moors ", a large, typical Upper Swabian, younger, hilly meltwater landscape with marshy lowlands.
Contiguous protected areas
The protected area “Pfrunger Ried - Rinkenburg” includes the protected forest “ Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried ” (100058), the nature reserves “ Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried ” (4,028) and “ Overgrown Lake ” (4,069), the protected landscape area “ Altshausen-Laubbach-Fleischwangen” "(4.36.050), the FFH area" Pfrunger Ried and Lakes near Illmensee "(8122-342) and the bird sanctuary " Pfrunger and Burgweiler Ried "(8022-401) are designated as contiguous protected areas.
