history
Louipahc (from loub = deciduous forest) was first mentioned in documents in 1204. The village belonged to the noble free von Schussenried and in 1272 came to the Schussenried monastery . In 1677 it was sold to Count Anton Euseb von Königsegg (1639–1692).
In 1806 Laubbach came under the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Württemberg and was assigned to the Oberamt Saulgau , but was initially not an independent municipality there, but part of the municipality of Königseggwald . In 1830 it merged with Oberweiler and Unterweiler to form an independent municipality. In 1938 Laubach came to the Saulgau district and in 1973 to the Sigmaringen district.
As part of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , Laubbach was incorporated into Ostrach on October 1, 1974.

Buildings
The Marienkapelle was first mentioned at the beginning of the 13th century. It was probably rebuilt in post-Gothic form by the Schussenried Abbey in 1602 and has a neo-Gothic tower from 1868. Today it is a hall church with a west tower and a three-sided choir. The sculptures date from the 14th to 18th centuries.
Tri-border region
South of Laubbach, on the edge of the Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried ( coordinates ), there was one of four three-country corners on the Ostrach district in 1806 , the suburbs of which were in Baden , Hohenzollern and Württemberg and where the three countries met a common border point. This point is marked by a border post with a sign from the Ostrach Border Stone Museum and the three coats of arms of the former countries. The other three-country corners are at Jettkofen , Magenbuch and Wangen .
