Oberochsenbach is a suburb of Burgweiler , one of eight localities in the Baden-Württemberg community of Ostrach in the Sigmaringen district .

Geographical location

The suburb of Oberochsenbach is located around seven kilometers southwest of the center of Ostrach, between Ochsenbach in the northwest, Waldbeuren in the northeast, Zoznegg in the south and the Pfullendorf district of Denkingen in the west.

history

In 1229 the place Obernohsenbach was first mentioned in a document; In 1435 it was owned by Konrad Schorp von Freudenberg . In 1454 Oberochsenbach and Ochsenbach were sold to the Salem monastery .

In 1637 Oberochsenbach and Burgweiler came to the county of Heiligenberg , and in 1806 to Baden .

In the course of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , the municipality of Burgweiler was incorporated into Ostrach on January 1, 1975 with the town of Oberochsenbach.
