Oberweiler is a suburb of Laubbach , one of eight localities in the Baden-Württemberg community of Ostrach in the Sigmaringen district .

Geographical location

The suburb Oberweiler is located three kilometers southeast of the center of Ostrach, between Unterweiler in the west, the Altshausen – Schwackenreute railway line and Wagenhart in the north, Hoßkirch in the east and Königseggwald in the south.

history

In 1183 a dwelling called Obirnwilare was first mentioned in a document; At that time it was owned by the Salem Monastery , later owned by the Weingarten Monastery . In 1527 the Counts of Königsegg acquired the place, and in 1806 it became part of the Kingdom of Württemberg .

In 1829 Oberweiler, Laubbach and Unterweiler merged to form an independent municipality. Oberweiler then had 44 residents.

In the course of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , the municipality of Laubbach was incorporated into Ostrach on October 1, 1974 with the towns of Oberweiler and Unterweiler.

Stop "Bürgerbus"

The Ostracher Citizens' Bus complements local public transport and improves, among other things, the mobility of people with disabilities. Two days a week the bus runs according to a fixed schedule between the center of Ostrach and Oberweiler, Unterweiler and Laubbach.
The citizen bus is financed by the municipality of Ostrach and operated by the citizen bus association as well as volunteer drivers and helpers.
