Gunzenhausen is a suburb of Tafertsweiler , one of eight localities in the Baden-Württemberg community of Ostrach in the Sigmaringen district .
geography
The suburb of Gunzenhausen is located 2.8 kilometers north of the center of Ostrach, between Tafertsweiler in the east, Jettkofen in the south-west and Kohlholz ( 636.2 m above sea level ) in the north-west.
history
In 1237 a village named Guntzenhusen was first mentioned in a document; at that time it was owned by the Salem monastery .
In the 19th century Gunzenhausen formed an independent community association with Tafertsweiler, Bachhaupten and Eschendorf , in 1806 it came under the sovereignty of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, and with this in 1850, it came to Prussia .
In the course of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , the community of Tafertsweiler and Gunzenhausen were incorporated into Ostrach on October 1, 1974.
