Mettenbuch is a suburb of Burgweiler , one of eight localities in the Baden-Württemberg community of Ostrach in the Sigmaringen district .

Geographical location

The suburb of Mettenbuch is 6.4 kilometers southwest of the center of Ostrach, south of the Altshausen – Schwackenreute railway line , between Hahnennest in the east, the Falken forest area in the west and Ochsenbach in the south.

history

Roman and Alemannic settlement remains were found on the municipal area.

Metinbuch was first mentioned in 1255 . In 1637 Mettenbuch and Burgweiler went to the Grafschaft Heiligenberg .

As part of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg , the municipality of Burgweiler was incorporated into Ostrach on January 1, 1975 with the town of Mettenbuch.
