The Bussen area is a protected landscape area in the Baden-Württemberg district of Biberach (LSG number 4.26.022) in Germany , which was designated by ordinance of December 1, 1969 .

location

The approximately 1411 hectare (ha) large protected area "Bussen" belongs to the natural areas Danube-Ablach-Platten and Hügelland der lower Riss . It lies on the territory of the municipalities of Dürmentingen (40.3126 ha = 2.85%), Unlingen (546.5685 ha = 38.73%) and Uttenweiler (824.3758 ha = 58.42%). It extends around the eponymous, 767  m above sea level. NHN meter high buses , one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Upper Swabia and an excellent panoramic mountain with a view of the Alps .

Protection purpose

The main protective purpose is the preservation of a "residual mountain that protrudes high above its surroundings with a cap made of Upper Miocene freshwater limestone in a glacial environment."

Contiguous protected areas

The FFH areaDanube between Munderkingen and Riedlingen ” (DE-7823-341) is designated as a contiguous protected area with the “Bussen” landscape protection area.
