history

Dürmentingen

The place Dürmentingen was first mentioned in a document in 811. During the time of the tribal duchies , the place was in the Duchy of Swabia . In 1290 the place came under the rule of the Habsburgs , who in 1386 pledged it to the Truchsessen von Waldburg and sold it in 1452. The Thirty Years War almost completely depopulated the place. In 1786 Dürmentingen fell to the Princes of Thurn and Taxis , but due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss , it came to the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1806 , where it belongs to the Oberamt Riedlingen . In 1911 the place was electrified. In 1915 the community was given a stop on the Federseebahn (Kanzachtalbahn), which was shut down in 1960. In 1935, a strong earthquake damaged buildings. In 1938 the place came to the district of Saulgau as part of the district reform at that time . On the afternoon of July 19, 1943, a heavy hailstorm caused a crop failure, in which almost 90% of the agricultural area was destroyed. During the Second World War , several American bombers were shot down over Dürmentingen on March 18, 1944. Towards the end of the war, French troops marched into Dürmentingen on April 23, 1945. Dürmentingen has been part of the Biberach district since 1973 . In 1993 the Maierwiesen II building area was completed. In 1995 the brickworks building area followed ; between 1997 and 1998 the building area Hinterer Bohlen and between 1998 and 2000 the industrial area Dautenhau .

According to the Stuttgart regional council, it is probably a Roman temple complex with a rectangular cella . In 1911 the place was electrified. In 1935, a strong earthquake damaged buildings. From 1994 to 2000 the construction area width III was expanded, which was expanded to include width IV from 2010 .
