Name origin
The name Mittelbiberach goes back to the middle of the Biberbach and, like Biberach an der Riss, owes its name to the Biberbach (nowadays: Rotbach).
history
Mittelbiberach was first mentioned in a document in 1275 . From around 1350 the place belonged to the Lords of Stein . Mittelbiberach came through the Lords of Andelfingen in 1440 through sale to Jakob Schad, whose descendants called themselves Schad von Mittelbiberach zu Warthausen. After the death of Bernhard Schad, the master of Mittelbiberach, Warthausen and Ober-Sulmetingen in 1600, his two daughters Dorothea and Euphrosine were enfeoffed with Mittelbiberach in 1603. Dorothea married the baron Hans Heinrich von Neuhausen ( Neuhausen auf den Fildern ). After the death of Hans Heinrich von Neuhausen in 1620 and his widow Dorothea in 1648, Mittelbiberach passed through their younger daughter, Euphrosine, with Ober-Sulmetingen to her husband Hans Ludwig von Ulm at Schloss Erbach , who later became Vice Chancellor . His descendants owned the community to the media coverage , by 1806 the Kingdom of Württemberg , the state government acquired. The castle came from the Ulm family to the Counts of Brandenstein- Zeppelin, who still own it.
On January 1, 1974, the previously independent municipality of Reute was incorporated into Mittelbiberach.
Religions
Mittelbiberach has a Roman Catholic influence. There are two Catholic parishes in the municipality , St. Cornelius and Cyprian in Mittelbiberach and St. Nikolaus in Reute.
For the few evangelical Christians is church in Biberach responsible.
