Location of the community of Allmannsweiler in the Biberach district | ||
Allmannsweiler is a small community in the Biberach district in the southeast of Baden-Württemberg .
geography
The community is located about 20 km southeast of Biberach an der Riss and 70 km southeast of Ulm , in a hilly moraine area on the edge of the Federsee basin in the valley of the Bierstetter Bach and near the bus . There are no other districts besides Allmannsweiler.
history
The settlement was probably founded in the 8th century and was first mentioned in a document in 1268 as Albinswil , and in 1292 it was definitely called Almswiler . Allmannsweiler belonged to the city of Saulgau , came into possession of the Habsburgs with this in 1298 and was part of Upper Austria until 1746 . During this time the place belonged to the office of Bierstetten and from 1386 was pledged to the Truchsessen von Waldburg , who in turn pledged it to the Counts of Zimmer and the Lords of Königsegg from 1588 . In 1746 the Waldburg family transferred ownership and lordship to the Schussenried monastery . After secularization in 1803, the place with the monastery first came to the Counts of Sternberg-Manderscheid, who never actually ruled. In 1806 Allmannsweiler became part of the Kingdom of Württemberg , and in 1814 the Counts of Sternberg also handed over ownership to the Württemberg crown. From 1806 until its dissolution, Allmannsweiler was part of the Saulgau District Office (from 1938: Saulgau district ). On January 1, 1973, the community became part of the Biberach district , but curiously, it still has the Saulgau postcode .
Municipal council
The Allmannsweiler municipal council has eight members. It consists of the voluntary councilors and the mayor as chairman. The mayor is entitled to vote in the municipal council. In the local elections on May 26, 2019, the local council was elected by majority vote. Majority voting takes place if no or only one nomination has been submitted. The applicants with the highest number of votes are then elected. The turnout was 73.6% (2014: 63.1%).
