The area of Hecken unter Winkelshalde is a landscape protection area in the area of ​​the city of Balingen in the Zollernalbkreis, designated by the Balingen District Office on February 14, 1939 .

location

The relatively small landscape protection area of ​​only 2.8 hectares is located on parcel No. 2799 in the Frommern district on a south-facing slope, about 500 m northwest of the Stockenhausen district . It belongs to the natural area Südwestliches Albvorland .

Landscape character

The name of the protected area is misleading, as today it is not a field hedge landscape in the sense of linear structures made of trees and bushes. Rather, on the south-facing slope, there is a flat, shrub-rich successional wood on a former poor lawn made up of oak, hazelnut , sloe , field maple , bird cherry and ash . Some service berries are also represented.

The landscape protection area is located in the bird sanctuary Südwestalb and Upper Danube Valley .
