Stockenhausen is a district of Balingen in the Zollernalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Stockenhausen is located southeast of Balingen between Zillhausen , Frommern and Laufen an der Eyach . It lies at the foot of the Böllat ( Burgfelden ) and the Schalksburg ruins

history

Stockenhausen was first mentioned in 1094 as Stokinhusen . Via the lords of Winzeln, the place came to the monastery of St. Gallen and finally to the counts of Zollern . In 1403 the Counts of Zollern sold the Schalksburg dominion to Württemberg, which also made Stockenhausen Württemberg. The place now belonged to the office and later to the Oberamt Balingen , which was part of the Kingdom of Württemberg from 1806 . In 1934 the Oberamt Balingen was renamed the Balingen district and in 1938 it became part of the Balingen district .

On January 1, 1971, Stockenhausen was incorporated into Frommern .

The coat of arms of Stockenhausen shows under a golden shield head a black stag stick reminiscent of the affiliation to Württemberg since 1403 , below it a white cross on a red background.

Stockenhausen is located near the federal highway 463 ( Sigmaringen - Balingen). With the Landstrasse 442 Stockenhausen is a connecting community between Frommern and Albstadt- Pfeffingen .
