Zillhausen is a district of Balingen in the Zollernalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg . It is located on the Swabian Alb, about halfway between Stuttgart and Lake Constance .

history

Zillhausen was first mentioned in 793 as Zillinhusir . Presumably there was also a castle and a local nobility here, but the place finally came under the rule of Schalksburg and thus to the Counts of Zollern. In 1403 the rule of Schalksburg fell to Württemberg and was assigned to the office in Balingen . From 1806 the place, meanwhile subordinate to the Oberamt Balingen , belonged to the newly established Kingdom of Württemberg and from 1919 to the national state of the same name . Zillhausen came to the district in 1934 and to the district of Balingen in 1938 .

On January 1, 1973, Zillhausen was incorporated into Balingen.
