Erlaheim is a district of Geislingen in the Zollernalb district in Baden-Württemberg .
history
Erlaheim was first mentioned as Erlhain in 1298 . The source is based on a Bebenhauser document in which a Heinrich von Erlhain is mentioned.
The place belonged to the rule of Kallenberg , which was completely in the hands of the Counts of Hohenberg since the end of the 13th century . From 1381 Erlaheim belonged to Upper Austria . In 1805 sovereignty and feudal sovereignty were transferred to the Electorate of Württemberg and the place was incorporated into the Balingen Oberamt , which became part of the Balingen district in 1938 . On July 1, 1971, the voluntary incorporation into Geislingen took place .
Heraldic symbolism
In 1699 the seal of the village governor showed a tree that represented an alder. On October 20, 1948, the municipality was awarded the coat of arms, which shows a silver alder branch in a red field.

Agriculture
In addition to agriculture and cattle breeding, Geislingen also grows fruit. Fruit growing, for which quite a lot happened in the last decades before 1878 by planting the Allmanden, suffers from the harsh climate, later varieties are better. The community, the manor and a stock corporation each own a tree nursery. A tree guard is set up. The fruit is used for must, drying and burning; little is sold. In Geislingen, avenues with historical varieties were planted as a nature trail, which are regularly and professionally maintained.
In 1878 Geislingen had 1496 tall pear trees, 1970 apple trees, 4409 plum and plum trees and 147 cherry trees.
