The Turkey Run State Park is located in Parke County of the US state of Indiana . Founded as Indiana's second state park in 1916, it has been home to the Turkey Run Inn since 1919 . In total, its area extends over 953 hectares.
Both Turkey Run State Park and Shades State Park are on Sugar Creek . Both have deep gorges that were created by the Turkey Run cutting into the sandstone river bed . The contrast between flat plains created by glacier movements and the sudden deep gorges regularly attracts visitors. Hikers can use the park's various walkways. A suspension bridge connects the two banks of the river.
