The tower without a name was a defensive tower of the outer city wall of the city of Aachen, built around 1300–1350 . It is no longer preserved.

designation

While only the Templar Tower of the inner city wall of Aachen is known by name, all the names of the towers of the outer city wall except for this tower have been passed down. Since the second, outer wall ring is mostly dealt with in the relevant literature, the self-designation “tower without a name” has established itself for this defensive tower of the outer wall.

location

The tower with no name was located in the southwest of the outer wall ring between Jakobstor and Junkerstor in the area of the Liège Schanze kennel . While the tower without a name was built on the steeply sloping part of the wall ring itself, the Eyerkeil tower stood opposite it at a corner of the kennel wall of the triangular ski jump .

description

The tower with no name was a square tower with a width of 8.50 m. He was supposed to defend the kennel complex from the wall ring, while the eyerkeil tower served to defend the kennel wall.

The date of construction and demolition of the tower are not known.
