badminton

The badminton department of the TBA was founded in 1983 and was re-launched on April 28, 1985 by Adolf Bender (at that time still at BC Niederlützingen).

In recent years, the department has been able to produce some Rhineland champions and is always at the top of the association rankings with a few players, especially in the youth field. One of the greatest successes was the participation of a U19 youth team in the Southwest German Championships in 1997 as a representative of the Rhineland.

In 2003 Ina Vermaßen became the Southwest German champion in the U13 girls' doubles.

In the 2007/2008 season, the badminton department was able to report 5 teams for the first time. They started in the Rhineland League, the District Class North (2 ×) and in the District League North (2 ×). In the 2005/2006 season, the first senior team rose to the association league for the first time. This was followed in the 2006/2007 season by marching straight through to the Rhineland League, the top division of the Rhineland Badminton Association . To the surprise of many, the first finished her debut in the Rhineland League 2007/2008 with the Rhineland championship title and three points ahead. In the following relegation, however, they failed in the fight against the champions of the neighboring associations for the vacant upper division places. In the 2008/2009 season, the first adult team won the championship again and was allowed to compete in the league for the first time in the 2009/2010 department history.

The second senior team won the championship title in the District League North in the 2007/2008 season with a seven point lead. In the subsequent relegation for promotion to the association league, they dominated the opponents from BC Welschbillig and TuS Asbach and thus served in the association league in the 2008/2009 season. The Association League will be upgraded to the Rhineland League in the 2009/2010 season. As second in the table you will fight for a place in the top half.

The fourth team, which can now also be promoted, benefited from this. The fourth will start in the 2008/2009 season in the District League North.

For the first time, Andernach badminton teams occupied all divisions of the Badminton Association Rhineland .

In the 2010/2011 season, the number of senior teams increased to 6 for the first time. The first team prevented relegation from the league on the last day of the game. The second team became Rhineland champions, followed by the third team in second place in the Rhineland League. The league reserve starts in the 2011/2012 season for the first time in the Rhineland-Palatinate league.
