Tuulisui (German about with the mouth of the wind ) was the self-designation of a literary group in Estonian literature . It originated in Estonia in the 1940s around a circle of Tartu writers.

Prominent representatives of Tuulisui were the writers Raimond Kolk , Kalju Lepik (who is considered to be the initiator of the group) and Ilmar Talve . With the Soviet occupation of Estonia, all three fled to Sweden in 1944 . In exile they continued their cooperation. The writers Karl Ristikivi , Ilmar Laaban , Leili Andre and Arvo Mägi were also closely associated with the group .

Tuulisui's literary manifesto was published in 1945 in the anthology Kisendad, kodumaa! ("You scream, homeland!"). It demanded nationalism, artistic intent, realism and the defense of general human values from literature and art. The group turned primarily against surrealism . With the magazine Sõna ("The Word") she was responsible for an important publication in the early phase of Estonian exile literature from 1948 to 1950. The group disbanded in the early 1950s.
