Mark Pellegrino
Mark Ross Pellegrino (born April 9, 1965 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor .
Life
Pellegrino was trained at the Playhouse West Theater in North Hollywood on the method of drama teacher Sanford Meisner . In 1987, the former soldier in the United States Army made his first guest appearance on the television series L.A. Law - Star Lawyers, Tricks, Trials . In the same year he was also seen in small roles in the comedy film Fatal Beauty on the side of Whoopi Goldberg and in the thriller The White in the Eye alongside Charles Bronson .
Since the late 1980s, Pellegrino has often received supporting roles in television productions and series. He played in the television series Hunter , Tales from the Crypt , Alaska of all things , The Police Chief , Emergency Room , Nash Bridges , The Sentinel , CSI: Miami , The Unit - A Question of Honor , Without a Trace - Disappeared without a trace , Prison Break or Grey's Anatomy . He became known for his role as Paul Bennett , the ex-prisoner and ex-husband of Rita Bennett , from the crime series Dexter . In the finale of the fifth season of the mystery series Lost , he played the mysterious Jacob, whose appearance was expected by the audience since the second season. He was also seen as this during the sixth season. In the fifth, seventh, eleventh and subsequent seasons of the US series Supernatural , Pellegrino played recurring roles as the fallen angel Lucifer and was part of the main cast in the following seasons, twelve and thirteen.
Pellegrino also starred in the movies Brennpunkt LA - The pros are back , Forgotten World: Jurassic Park , The Big Lebowski , The Mona Case , The Legacy of the Knights Templar or Mulholland Drive - Street of Darkness . He was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for his role as Dick Hickock in Capote .
In addition to his film and television engagements, Pellegrino also works as a theater actor. At Playhouse West, his training center, he worked in the plays The Exonorated , directed by Jeff Goldblum, and 9-11 and Minor Holiday by Scott Caan . There he also works as an acting teacher.
In his free time, the 1.85 m tall Pellegrino mainly practices martial arts such as martial arts , kickboxing , judo , karate , ju-jitsu and professional Thai boxing .
