Prosecution: Murder - In the name of truth is an American film drama with the actors Kate Beckinsale , Nick Nolte and Clancy Brown in the lead roles. Karen Moncrieff was responsible for the script and direction . The film had its world premiere on November 28, 2013 in Hungary . It had its US premiere on April 5, 2014, in Germany the film was released directly on DVD and Blu-ray from July 24, 2014 .

Cate McCall is a top young criminal defense attorney who works on probation in her former law firm after a drinking problem. McCall tries her life to regain her relationship with her young daughter Augie, the custody process and her former position.
In order to be considered top in her job again, she has to help the young mother Lacey to prove her innocence in a retrial. McCall finds out that the evidence was fabricated and witnesses were influenced. With Lacey sentenced to life in a murder case using forged and misappropriated evidence , McCall, with the help of her assistant, Bridges, pulls out all the stops to win the trial. Many people involved have problems with it, and so the prosecution and the former investigating detectives Welch and Duncan try to throw clubs between the legs of the lawyer and discredit both McCall and Lacey Stubbs. McCall also uses her struggle for custody and the process to work with her therapist on her own addiction and alcohol past. It is only when she gets Lacey free that she realizes that her client is guilty after all - and tries to correct the mistake.
