Two rocks

Two Rocks is a coastal suburb of Perth in Western Australia , 61 kilometers north of downtown Perth . It is part of the local government area of Wanneroo City .

Two Rocks is considered the northernmost area of the Perth metropolitan area. The suburb of Yanchep connects to the south .

There is a marina and the Yanchep Sun City development center in Two Rocks . In this context, the amusement park Atlantis Marine Park was opened in 1981 , but had to close in 1990.

Although the suburb is large, the majority of the population lives in an area of 2.3 square kilometers near the coast on either side of the marina. Large areas around Two Rocks are restricted areas, as duds from previous military activities are located there.

history

The suburb of Two Rocks takes its name from two prominent rocks in the ocean at Wreck Point . It was approved as a name in 1975.

In 1991 a large forest fire destroyed many buildings.
