Two of Hearts is a pop song by Stacey Q . It was first released in 1985 in a preliminary version on the EP Stacey Q on On the Spot Records, which was released on cassette and was limited to 500 copies. It was released as a single in the US in the summer of 1986 and in Europe in the fall of 1986, both via Atlantic Records . He also appeared on her debut album Better Than Heaven .
reception
Two of Hearts became one of the most successful singles of 1986 in the US (over one million units sold, platinum ). In the autumn of 1986 the single was also successful in Europe and reached around number six in Germany and Switzerland . Stacey Q sang the song several times on The Facts of Life TV series (where she played Cinnamon ), making her song popular and a success.
Two of Hearts is listed at number 26 in VH1's 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80’s .
Further use
Two of Hearts by Stacey Q was used in the films Little Nicky (2000), Party Monster (2003) and Hot Rod (2007). It was also used in the It's Always Sunny series in Philadelphia .
In an episode of the Beavis and Butthead series , the music video of Two of Hearts was shown in full.
In an episode of the series RuPaul's Drag Race , the actors parody Two of Hearts with lip movements to the singing.
