Tyler was an Austrian alternative rock band that was formed in 2002. It was named after the character Tyler Durden from the movie Fight Club .

history

Lukas Hillebrand and Moritz Gaber laid the foundation stone for Tyler back in the early 1990s. In middle school, the two began to be enthusiastic about music and gained guitar , songwriting and singing experience in school bands .

After graduating from high school , Lukas Hillebrand founded the producer duo Heat together with Florian Cojocaru. After the first successful commissioned productions, the first Tyler recordings were made in the Vienna k4 recording studio in 2002. At that time the band consisted of Lukas Hillebrand (vocals, guitar), Moritz Gaber (guitar), Adele Raczkövi (bass) and David Leister (drums), was still without a label and had their first appearances in Vienna and the surrounding area.

In September 2003 Lukas Hillebrand got to know Peter Schönbauer (bass) and Markus Adamer (drums) during the Vera Böhnisch production. The two were a well-rehearsed rhythm section. Lukas was thrilled and was able to win her over for Tyler. Shortly afterwards, Tyler signed a recording contract with the independent label derfreieraumfürmusik . Numerous appearances followed and in October 2004 the first single "What's Wrong" was released, which was played on FM4 , the youth radio station of the ORF and the private television station gotv . In April 2005 the debut album "Don't Play" was released, from which 3 more singles were released ("Hello", "Separated" and "Beautiful"). All singles were u. a. played on FM4 and Ö3 .

In March 2005 Markus Adamer separated from the band due to musical differences. It was only after a long search that an adequate replacement was found in Upper Austrian Alex Pohn. The rest of 2005 the band played in Austria to market their album. In 2006 they started working on a second album. In the same year Moritz Gaber left the band and the record deal with derfreieraumfürmusik was terminated. In 2010 the single "Sister Sunrise" was released.

On December 16, 2011 the band gave their last concert at WUK .
