Tyler Merren

Tyler Merren (born May 29, 1984 ) is an American goalball player .

Merren began playing goalball in 1999 while attending the annual Sports Education Camp at Western Michigan University . During high school he began to train and in 2001 he took part in his first international competition, the Para Pan American Games , and won silver with his team. Since then, Merren has played for the United States' men's national goalball team. In 2004 in Athens he took part in the Paralympic Games for the first time and won a bronze medal there with his team. In 2008 in Beijing , however, they could not repeat this success.

Merren now lives in Kalamazoo , Michigan . He is married and has three children. He is currently studying at Western Michigan University .
