from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A type command is a structural element in naval forces , in which naval warfare equipment of the same or similar types are summarized. The type commands together form the type of organization of a Marine, which differs from the emergency response organization (Engl. Task organization can) differ.

In the Federal Navy there were a number of type commands that were renamed several times and finally referred to as flotillas . These included the destroyer flotilla , the flotilla of naval aviation , the submarine flotilla , the flotilla of naval command services and the speedboat flotilla . With the establishment of the operational flotillas 1 and 2 , the type organization in the German Navy was essentially given up in 2006.

The United States Navy combines its naval aviators , surface forces and submarines in the Atlantic and Pacific areas in type commands . There are also the Naval Network Warfare Command and the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command , both of which are subordinate to the United States Fleet Forces Command .
