The Tyrol Valley is a high-altitude and non-iced valley in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range , it is east of Mount Baldr .
The Austrian biologist Heinz Janetschek (1913–1997), who worked in this region from 1961 to 1962 as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program , named it after his homeland, the Austrian state of Tyrol .
