Tyrus was an Australian thrash metal band from Melbourne that was formed in 1984 and disbanded in 1986.

history

The band was formed in 1984 and consisted of singer and guitarist Peter Hobbs, guitarist Alex Radanov, bassist Dave Frew and drummer Pat DeGarmo. Shortly after it was founded, the latter was replaced by Chris Phillips. After Frew left the cast in 1985, he founded Rampage . The bassist Harold took his position. At around the same time, the group recorded a first demo that contains four songs. In 1986 Mick Zaitcz joined as the new bass player. However, since Peter Hobbs decided to found Hobbs' Angel of Death , it was dissolved in December 1986. In 2012 Arkham Chronicles Records & Distribution released the compilation Rats Will Have Their Feast , which was followed by another self-titled compilation by Iron Pegasus Records the following year .

According to Brian Fischer-Giffin in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal , the band has evolved from hard rock to thrash metal. thethrashmetalguide.com noted that Tire may well be Australia's first thrash metal band. The songs would have a heavy and threatening atmosphere and they would have oppressive riffs . In the song Crucifixion group recall Celtic Frost , while Bubonic Flesh by Angel Dust sword. The music is suitable for fans of Mortal Sin , Hobbs' Angel of Death and Bezerker .
