The U-17 Africa Cup 2015 (officially: 2015 African U-17 Championship ) was the eleventh edition of the continental championship for U-17 juniors organized by the Confédération Africaine de Football . It took place from February 15 to March 1, 2015 in Niamey , Niger . The Malian U-17 team became African champions with a 2-0 win in the final against South Africa . In the game for third place, Guinea was able to prevail against Nigeria . The defending champion Ivory Coast and the host Niger were eliminated in the preliminary round. The four semi-finalists in the tournament qualified for the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile .
The qualification for the U-17 African Cup of Nations 2015 took place between June 13 and September 28, 2014. Host Niger was directly qualified, the seven other participants were determined in the knockout system with a return leg.
The Ghanaian team was disqualified on October 26, 2014 for having fielded an ineligible player in the qualifying game against Cameroon. The Cameroonian team moved up.
Preliminary round
The preliminary round was held in two groups of four teams each. The two group winners and runners-up qualified for the semi-finals and for the 2015 U-17 World Cup . All times refer to local time ( UTC + 1 ).
