The Ivorian U-17 national soccer team is a selection of Ivorian soccer players . It is subject to the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football and represents it internationally at U-17 level , for example in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, at U-17 African Championships and U-17 World Cups .
The team achieved their best result at a world championship in 1987 in Canada , when they lost in the semifinals to the Soviet Union , the eventual world champions, and then defeated Italy in the game for third place. In 2011 she was eliminated in the last sixteen against France , in 2013 she lost in the quarter-finals against Argentina.
The team became African champions in 2013 . She had already achieved third place in 2005 and fourth place in 2011 .
