The Donauspital station on the U2 underground line is located in the 22nd district of Vienna , Donaustadt , on the edge of the Stadlau district . It was built in an elevated position.
The station is located parallel to Langobardenstrasse opposite the main entrance of the Donauspital , Vienna's second largest hospital. It was opened on October 2, 2010 with the opening of the third section of the U2 between the stadium and Aspernstrasse . It is double-track and has an island platform with several exits to the social medicine center (Zschokkegasse) and the geriatric center (Kapellenweg).
