The Kardinal-Nagl-Platz station on the Vienna underground line U3 in the 3rd district of Vienna Landstrasse was opened on April 6, 1991, when the first section of the U3 between the Erdberg and Volkstheater stations was released. It is named after the square, named in 1914 after the Archbishop of Vienna, Franz Xaver Cardinal Nagl (1855–1913), who was in office between 1911 and 1913 .
The station extends under Hainburger Strasse between Kardinal-Nagl-Platz and Keinergasse. The station has a central platform and has an exit at each end of the platform that leads to Keinergasse and Kardinal-Nagl-Platz. Both exits have no escalators . A barrier-free entrance by elevator is located at the Keinergasse exit. There is a public toilet facility at the Kardinal-Nagl-Platz exit. It is possible to change to the 77A bus in the direction of Rennweg or Lusthaus .
In the immediate vicinity of the station is the Rabenhof , a community building from the interwar period. It houses the Rabenhof Theater .
