Architecture and art

The underground station is a three-aisled pillar foundation 96.5 m below the ground. The pillars of the main hall are tiled with white marble, the white ceiling of which is divided by diametrical mosaic strips made of glazed bricks. The numerous mosaic pictures show representations of the princes of the Kievan Rus , ancient Kievan churches and other patterns, so that one can discover all the rulers of Kiev from the 11th to the 13th century when walking through the station. In the spaces between the mosaic arches hang ornamental bronze chandeliers with 12 lamps each.

The artists involved in the construction received the Taras Shevchenko Prize in 1991 . The station's mosaics have been listed as a monument to architecture and urban planning since 2011.
