Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People is the first release of the band Primus after the band's three-year hiatus from 2000 to 2003. Drummer Tim Alexander , who left the band in 1996, returned to the band to record the EP .

The EP contains five tracks written and produced by the band specifically for this release. The DVD contains all music videos available at the time the DVD was released , as well as short films and live recordings by the band dating back to 1986.
