The hall of fame, which is run by the national squash federation US Squash , honors US-Americans who are connected to the sport of squash , such as athletes or pioneers in this sport. However, some personalities from other nations have already been accepted into the hall of fame.
history
Since it was founded in 2000, 65 personalities have been inducted into the Hall of Fame to date (as of Induction 2019 ). These include athletes from the fields of hardball squash, softball squash, singles, doubles, men, women, as well as professionals and amateurs. The various age group competitions (Juniors, Intercollegiate and Masters ) are also taken into account. Services in free competition ( Engl. Open competitions but) get a higher weight in deciding the inclusion in the US Squash Hall of Fame. In the hall of fame, however, people are also accepted with extraordinary contributions off the field, such as coaches or officials (such as administrators) who have made a (pioneering) contribution to the growth and spread of squash in the United States with their work. In addition, integrity and sportsmanship are taken into account when selecting members. The basic criterion for entry into the Hall of Fame is whether the individual has had a significant positive impact on the sport of squash in the United States. For players there is a waiting period of five years from the time of the end of their career before they can be inducted into the Hall of Fame. In addition, the recipient must be a citizen or at least a resident of the United States for a substantial part of their career . Nominations for inclusion in the Hall of Fame can be submitted via the official US Squash website, among other things.
