Ulme was a noise rock trio founded in Flensburg , which operated under this name from 1993 and was most recently based in Hamburg until it was dissolved in early 2012 .
history
The band was originally founded in 1991 by the brothers Arne (vocals and guitar) and Gunnar Heesch (bass) and their cousin Jan-Eric Heesch (drums). In his pioneering role for noise rock from Germany alongside groups such as Harmful and Les Hommes Qui Wear Espandrillos , Ulme released three studio albums and a split with "Pendikel" between 1995 and 1999 on the bluNoise record label , before the band split up due to internal disputes .
The band members were subsequently active in various other bands and musical projects, including the "Ahab", which appeared mainly in northern Germany, and a project with the NDW artist Andy Giorbino .
In 2005 Ulme was reactivated, but without Gunnar Heesch, who was replaced by Tim Liedtke (formerly with “Sissies”) on bass. With The Glowing, an EP was initially released in 2006 , but Jan-Eric Heesch left Ulme again when Dreams of the Earth was released via Noisolution a year later and was replaced by Lutz Möllmann in early 2008.
Another EP followed in 2009 with The Sea in Me, and a little later in the same year the album Tropic of Taurus .
At the beginning of February 2012, Ulme again announced its dissolution due to internal disagreements. At this point, the songs for a new album had already been completed and a studio was booked. Arne Heesch has been playing in the band Treedeon together with Yvonne Ducksworth ( Jingo de Lunch ) and Christian Böhm since 2013 .
