Yvonne Ducksworth (* 1967 in Burlington , Ontario ) is a Canadian singer , actress and presenter . She lives in Berlin .

Life

As a teenager, she moved with her parents to Frankfurt am Main and then in 1983 on to Berlin-Kreuzberg alone . In 1986 she was the singer of the Berlin hardcore bands Combat Not Conform and Manson Youth . In 1987 she founded the rock-punk-metal band Jingo de Lunch with guitarists Sepp Ehrensberger and Tom Schwoll , bassist Henning Menke and drummer Steve Hahn . With Ducksworth as a singer, the band released five albums and various EPs and compilations until 1996.

As an actress, she appeared several times in films by the Canadian director Penelope Buitenhuis , for example in the short films They Shoot Pigs Don't They? (1989) and LLaw (1990). In Buitenhuis' first feature film Trouble (1993) she played the lead role, a musician named Jonnie, who is active in the political squatter scene in Kreuzberg and who is fighting with her band Jello Belly for the preservation of the alternative center “Rockhaus”. The film ran on March 23, 1993 on ZDF in the series “ das kleine Fernsehspiel ” and is now available on DVD.

In 1994 she hosted the program "Metalla" with Adam Turtle on the then new music channel VIVA . The show showed clips and reports about metal, hardcore and punk music.

In 1996 Jingo de Lunch disbanded . Ducksworth moved to Phoenix , Arizona , where she studied telecommunications engineering at South Mountain Community College from 2004 to 2007 .

In August 2006, Jingo de Lunch played two sold out reunion concerts in Berlin's White Trash Fast Food . Since 2007 the band toured regularly and released new material, Ducksworth also lived in Berlin since 2007. In 2012 the band broke up again. Since 2013 Ducksworth has played in the sludge / doom metal band Treedeon .
