UPM Nordland Paper

The Nordland Papier GmbH is a subsidiary of the Finnish UPM-Kymmene Group, based in Dörpen ( Emsland ).

The paper mill is one with a capacity of 1.3 million tons per year of the largest producers of fine paper in Europe. Around 1,200 people are employed in the plant (as of 2018). There are four fine paper machines and two coating machines in the plant, which was founded in 1967. The pulp for paper production is delivered by its own parent company via the Dörpen branch of the coastal canal .
