The US Bancorp Tower is a 150-foot, 42-story skyscraper in Portland , Oregon . This makes it the second tallest building in Oregon after the Wells Fargo Center and has the largest floor space in Oregon with around 69,000 m².

The building is located at 111 SW 5th Avenue, a little remote from the rest of the city's skyscrapers.

history

The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. On May 29, 1981, work began to dig the foundation . The structural work was completed in June 1983. Finally, it was officially opened on December 1st of the same year. The building was built as an extension of the 7-story US Bank Plaza.

Until 1997 the building was the headquarters of US Bancorp. The company then moved its headquarters to Minneapolis . It is still used by the company. It was also used by Louisiana-Pacific in the 1990s .

In August 2006, JPMorgan bought the building for $ 286 million.
