US Open 1959 (badminton)
The 1959 US Badminton Open took place in Detroit in April 1959 . They were also the national championships that year . Tan Joe Hok won the final against Charoen Wattanasin from Bangkok with 7-15, 15-5 and 18-14. Jim Poole was eliminated in the semifinals against Wattanasin with 15-6 and 18-13. Baltimore's Judy Devlin defeated Norwich's Dorothy O'Neil 11-0 and 11-1 in the final .
