The ЕКр1 ( EKr1 ) is a high-speed electric multiple unit procured by the Ukrsalisnyzja , which is used especially in express train traffic on networks with 3 kV direct current and 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current . It was created in two copies in Waggonbau Krjukow near the city of Kremenchuk . Its structure is similar to the German ICE 1 , the only difference being that there are additional seats in the control car, which is designed as an electric locomotive .

history

At the beginning of the 21st century there was a question in Ukraine about the organization of high-speed connections for passenger traffic. The first model was the Capital Express (2002), which connected Kiev with Kharkiv . The train was still a locomotive-hauled train and therefore no longer in keeping with the zeitgeist of modern express train connections. In preparation for the European Football Championship in 2012 , however, the Ukrzalisnyzja wanted to procure fast railcar units. Therefore ten multiple units were bought from the Hyundai Rotem company ( HRCS2 series ). Six units were procured by the start of the European Championship, the remaining four were delivered after the end. During this time the development of fast trains with a theoretical speed of 200 to 220 km / h began in the wagon construction company Krjukow. However, the factory was unable to fully design and certify these trains until the start of the European Football Championship.

In September 2012 the train went through the factory inspection. On January 31, 2013, the first unit ЕКр1.001 ( EKr1.001 ) was put into operation. The interdepartmental acceptance commission announced that the 9-car unit from Waggonbau Krjukow complied with the technical specifications. The multiple unit was therefore legally accepted.

During this time, the assembly of the second unit ЕКр1.002 ( EKr1.002 ) was completed, which is currently (2012?) The commissioning work is being carried out.

Scheme of the train

The train consists of seven sidecars and two railcars. The special feature is that the motor vehicles, although designed as electric locomotives, also have passenger compartments.

The car body is made of stainless steel. The design of the wagons fully complied with the requirements of ergonomic standards , microclimate , lighting, noise and vibration standards, and also the requirements for safety at all stages of processing.

The interior of the compartments, which was built in a contemporary design, was made of plastic and metal panels. Wear-resistant, ecologically clean and flame-retardant materials were used. The necessity of easy dismantling and the possibility of access to the construction of the car body had been complied with.

On April 5, 2013, the inter-agency commission based in Krjukow Waggonbau made the decision that the two built multiple units ЕКр1.001 and ЕКр1.002 are allowed to operate at a maximum speed of 160 km / h. In addition, Waggonbau Krjukow was allowed to manufacture a test batch of ten electric trains of the same type.

Equipment of the wagons

  • Bogies without pivot pins with central pneumatic suspension model 68-7072 (motor vehicle ) and model 69-7049 (intermediate vehicle );
  • Fixed coupling between the carriages and hermetic transition for passengers;
  • Places for the transportation of wheelchairs;
  • Systems of the electrical supply, carried out from the high-voltage undercarriage main line via static converters, also from industrial electrical network 380 V on berths, also from the accumulator battery. In addition, all cars have reserve systems for electrical power.
  • Systems of hot and cold water supply;
  • combined systems of heating with automatic temperature regulation;
  • Ventilation systems with automatic temperature regulation;
  • Sanitary facilities (washroom, shower, toilets with closed system);
  • Fire prevention devices (fire signaling, fire notification, wet extinguishing devices);
  • Systems of automatic management, controllers and diagnostics under the САУКД ( SAUKD ) system;
  • Systems of the control of loading of the journal bearings according to system СКНБ ( SKNB );
  • Systems of the control of a condition of disk brakes on system СКСТ ( SKST );
  • automatic systems of diagnosis of a train on system ПАИДС ( PAIDS );
  • Video observation systems;
  • Information systems (information panel and display);
  • Train connection systems Leading train - guided ;
  • Public address and television display systems;
  • Navigation systems;
  • automatic drive of the doors as lean-to-slide doors;
  • automatic vestibule doors as electric sliding doors;
  • Systems of blocking external doors at speeds greater than 5 km / h;
  • the control cars were manufactured for the first time in the Ukraine, crash-optimized up to 2 MJ in a frontal collision;

Interesting facts

The multiple units were given the nickname Tarpan in honor of the wild steppe horses .

In some Internet forums from railway enthusiasts, the train was given the unofficial name model ПЛТ200 ( PLT 200 = train-locomotive traction with a design speed of up to 200 km / h). However, the manufacturer's website does not use this name.
