Ubaldo Arata
Ubaldo Arata (born March 23, 1895 in Ovada , † December 7, 1947 in Rome ) was an Italian cameraman.
Life
Even as a teenager, Ubaldo Arata was a camera assistant for film. At the age of 20 he made his first film as head cameraman. During the Second World War , he mainly photographed film adaptations of operas and dramas. In stark contrast to this stood his collaboration on Rome, Open City , one of the most important films of neorealism . Arata died at the age of 52 while filming Count Cagliostro .
