Udo Gansloßer

Udo Gansloßer (* 1956 ) is a German zoologist and behavioral scientist.

Udo Gansloßer is a private lecturer in zoology. He began his scientific work with tree kangaroos . He wrote his doctoral thesis in Heidelberg . After that he became interested in the social behavior of kangaroos in general. He received his license to teach in 1991 at the Zoological Institute in Erlangen .

From this point on, he expanded his interests to other large mammals, taking into account social mechanisms in connection with nature conservation and breeding management. As a member of EASA, the European Zoo Association , he regularly conducts courses in behavioral and zoo biology, he also advises zoos and animal parks, is the author of non-fiction books and translates zoological publications.

From the 2006 winter semester he was a lecturer in zoology at the Zoological Institute and Museum of the University of Greifswald and since the 2007 summer semester he has also been a lecturer at the Phylogenetic Museum and Institute for Special Zoology at the University of Jena .

He is currently conducting several research projects on the subject of dogs, domestic dogs and greyhound species. The focus is on questions about social behavior and social mechanisms.
