Udo Haß

Udo Haß (born December 22, 1949 in Hermannshagen ) was a football player in the German Football Association of the GDR . For FC Vorwärts Berlin / Frankfurt / O. he played in the Oberliga , the top division of the DFV. He is a two-time junior international.

Haß grew up in the small heath town of Hermannshagen near the Baltic Sea, but soon moved with his parents to the then district capital of Rostock . There he began to play organized football at the age of nine with the company sports association Lokomotive Rostock. In 1962 he was accepted into the student team of FC Hansa Rostock and then went through the other youth teams. On September 16, 1967, he played an international match with the GDR junior national team. In the encounter Poland - GDR (4-0) he was used as a defender. He completed a second junior international game on September 27, 1967. A year later, Haß and Hansa Rostock were GDR junior champions. After completing school, Haß completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer.

For the 1968/69 season he was reported as a defender by FC Hansa for the 2nd team that played in the second-rate GDR league . He played his first GDR league game as a substitute on September 8, 1968 in the game FC Hansa Rostock II -chemie Premnitz (1-1). He finished the season with a total of 15 of 30 GDR league league games, in which he was usually used as a central defender. Also for the season 1969/70 Haß was reported again for Hansa II and was a regular player in the central defense there from the beginning. He completed his last game for Hansa Rostock on April 12, 1970 in the GDR league league game Vorwärts Neubrandenburg - FC Hansa II (0-0). So he was used in a total of 36 league games of the 2nd team.

In May 1970, Haß had to start his army service and was assigned to the army sports community Vorwärts Stralsund . Vorwärts Stralsund was also playing in the GDR league at this time, and by the end of 1970 Haß had played 13 point games for Vorwärts. At the beginning of 1971, the 1.88 m tall football talent was delegated to the main club of the GDR Army, FC Vorwärts Berlin. After several GDR league games with the 2nd team, he was first used on May 26, 1971 in the GDR Oberliga. In the game Hallescher FC - FC Vorwärts (1-0), he was substituted on for Manfred Müller in the 71st minute . In the following five league games until the end of the season, Haß played in the first team, so that he came to six first division appearances this season. In the 1971/72 season, FC Vorwärts was relocated to Frankfurt (Oder) , and Haß again played predominantly in the 2nd team. He was only used once in the major league. Also in 1972/73 he played only three times in the league.

After two and a half years at the Army Club with a total of 10 league games, Haß joined the GDR league promoted TSG Bau Rostock in 1973 . Haß stayed there for eight years and ended his active career at the end of the 1980/81 season.
