Bartelshagen II b. Barth (in contrast to the nearby Bartelshagen Ib. Ribnitz-D. ) Has been a district of the municipality of Saal in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany) since January 1, 2014 .

Bartelshagen II b. Barth lies between the towns of Barth and Ribnitz-Damgarten in an almost flat area in the immediate hinterland of the Saaler Bodden . The Saaler Bach flows through the south of the district , in the north a large, partly swampy forest area extends to the Barthe ( Barther Stadtholz ).

history
Bartelshagen was first mentioned in a document in 1316. The will of Prince Witzlaw III. Von Rügen arranged for the transfer of his estate to Barther citizens. Some well-known shipbuilders were born in Bartelshagen, such as Nicolaus Dierling , the founder of the Dierling shipyard in Damgarten in 1740 . In particular, barges , briggs and schooners were built there.
After the Thirty Years War until 1815, the farming village belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania .
The former community was part of the Franzburg-Barth district until 1952 and then belonged to the Ribnitz-Damgarten district in the Rostock district until 1994 . On January 1, 2014, it was incorporated into the municipality of Saal.
The annual barrel chopping off as part of the village festival is worth seeing .
Economy and Infrastructure
In Bartelshagen there are shops and a restaurant, in the district of Hermannshof there is an organic shop. The nearest shopping centers are in Ribnitz-Damgarten and Barth.
Several agricultural and small craft businesses are active in the community. There is a kindergarten, the nearest schools are in Lüdershagen and Ribnitz-Damgarten (including a high school ).
Transport links
Road connections lead from Bartelshagen to the port city of Barth and the Baltic seaside resorts of Prerow and Zingst , the Neuhof district is close to the B 105 (Rostock – Stralsund). The nearest train station on the Stralsund – Rostock railway line is in the neighboring community of Trinwillershagen , Altenwillershagen .
Bus connections lead u. a. to Barth (train station, connection to Stralsund) and Ribnitz-Damgarten (train station Ribnitz-Damgarten-West, connection to long-distance connections in the direction of Stralsund and Rostock , Schwerin , Hamburg , Stuttgart ).
