Udo Jesionek

Udo Jesionek (born November 19, 1937 in Berlin) is an Austrian lawyer , President of the Youth Court Vienna a. D., honorary professor for juvenile criminal law and the penal system at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and president of the White Ring Association for Crime Victims .

Life

After finishing elementary and secondary school, Udo Jesionek completed an apprenticeship in toolmaking, which he completed with the skilled worker examination in 1955. After the external qualification examination in 1957, he studied at the University of Vienna ( political science , then law ). He received his doctorate in law in May 1962. Career: Court practice from February 1962, appointment as a judge candidate on July 1, 1962, judge examination with excellent results in February 1965, appointment as judge on March 1, 1965, judge at various district courts in Lower Austria , at the criminal district court and at the regional court for criminal matters Vienna (most recently as Vice President). Appointment as President of the Vienna Youth Court on January 1, 1982. Numerous study trips to other European countries, the USA and Japan. He entered permanent retirement on December 31, 2002.

President of the White Ring Crime Victims Relief Organization (honorary; since 1981). Honorary professor for juvenile criminal law and the penal system at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. Teaching activity at various other universities and technical colleges. Permanent member and auditor of the Austrian Legal Commission. Board member of the Austrian Lawyers' Association. Permanent member of the "Society for the Entire Criminology" (now: Criminological Society). Member of the Board of Trustees of the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for Victims of National Socialism . Member of the commission of the Independent Victim Protection Ombudsman ("Klasnic Commission"). Chairman of the committee “Help for Victims of Violence in Institutions of the Vienna Youth Welfare Service”. Member of the board of the Austrian Gustav-Adolf-Verein (since 1968; chairman from 1980 to 2011). Deputy Equal Treatment Officer of the Evangelical Churches A. and HB; Chairman of the Personnel Senate of the Evang. Church A. and HB patron of the youth projects of the Theater an der Wien.

  • 1987–1995: Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of the Broadcasting Act
  • 1979–1999: Deputy Chairman of the Association for Probation Aid and Social Work
  • 1999–2008: Member of the Human Rights Advisory Council in the Federal Ministry of the Interior
  • 1980–1984: Founding member and Vice President of the Guardianship Association
  • 1992–1999: Board member of the Association for Guardianship
  • 1985–2002: Examination commissioner of the judges' examination commission at the Higher Regional Court of Vienna
  • 1974–1985: Member of the advisory board of the Association for Legal and Criminal Sociology. Board member of the AIDP
