Udo Reichl (born October 22, 1959 in Kaufbeuren ) is a German biotechnologist . He is director at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Magdeburg and holds the chair for bioprocess engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.

Live and act

After studying biology at Saarland University, Udo Reichl received his doctorate in 1991 at the Institute for System Dynamics and Control Engineering at the University of Stuttgart . In 1993 he took over the management of virus production in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology company Pitman-Moore GmbH in Burgwedel. From 1996 to 1999 Udo Reichl was deputy production manager in the human and animal pharmaceutical company Mallinckrodt Vet GmbH and Essex Animal Health Burgwedel. Since 1999, Udo Reichl has held the professorship for bioprocess engineering at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.

In 2000, Udo Reichl was appointed director of the system and signal-oriented bioprocess technology department at the Max Planck Institute in Magdeburg and a scientific member of the Max Planck Society . From its opening in October 2007 to August 2013, Udo Reichl was the spokesman for the International Max Planck Research School IMPRS for Advanced Methods in Process and Systems Engineering (IMPRS ProEng).
