Udo Schmälzle

Udo Schmälzle (born March 20, 1943 in Seebach ) is a Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Schmälzle studied Roman Catholic theology at the Fulda Theological Faculty and at the University of Munich from 1965 to 1971 after leaving school . In 1971 Schmälzle was ordained a priest. From 1980 to 1987 Schmälzle was a lecturer for youth and adult education at the University of Würzburg . From 1987 to 2008 Schmälzle was professor of the seminar for pastoral theology and religious education at the University of Münster .

In 2011 Schmälzle signed the memorandum Church 2011: A necessary departure .
