Udo Stark

Udo Stark (born November 21, 1947 in Westerland on Sylt ) was Chairman of the Board of Management of MTU Aero Engines Holding AG until the end of 2007 .

Life

After graduating in business administration in Tübingen and Saarbrücken with a degree in business administration, Udo Stark began his professional career in 1970 at Röchling Iron and Steel Works . From 1971 to 1973 he completed an MBA program at Harvard Business School in Boston. He then worked in international management positions at the Dutch Akzo Nobel group until 1991 , most recently as CEO of Enka AG and Enka bv, in which the Akzo Group's global man-made fiber and plastics business was combined.

From 1991 to 2000 he was head of the listed plant and machine construction group Agiv AG . In 2001 Udo Stark became Chairman of the Shareholders' Committee of Messer Griesheim GmbH when it was acquired by financial investors as part of the restructuring of the Hoechst Group. In 2003 he took over from Karl-Josef Neukirchen as chairman of the board of the former metal company , which was then called mg technologies AG. Since January 1, 2005, Udo Stark has been Chairman of the Management Board and since May 2005 Chairman of the Board of Management of Germany's largest engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines Holding AG, which he floated on the stock exchange in June 2005.

In March 2007, Stark announced his retirement as CEO of MTU Aero Engines after reaching the age of 60 at the end of 2007. In February 2008, Udo Stark was appointed to the MTU Supervisory Board.

Udo Stark is a member of the Supervisory Board of Bilfinger SE.
