The Uecker Viaduct is with 1182 m the longest bridge of Highway 20 .
The structure is located southwest of Pasewalk between the Pasewalk-Nord and Pasewalk-Süd motorway junctions and crosses the Uecker valley with the Pasewalk – Prenzlau railway line and two farm roads . The Uecker forms the border between the communities Rollwitz and Papendorf , on whose districts the bridge lies. The bridge construction, which is only about 15 m high, was chosen in place of a dam because of the spring moor areas and the poor subsoil. The overpass with two separate superstructures was built between 1999 and 2001.
Foundation and substructures
The abutments and pillars are founded with 1.5 m thick pile head foundations on large bored piles with lengths of up to 25 m. The hexagonal pillars with external dimensions of 2.2 m have a full cross-section, stand in pairs under a superstructure and are not connected to one another by crossbars.
Superstructures
The two adjacent superstructures of the prestressed concrete bridge have the continuous beam as a structural system in the longitudinal direction . In the transverse direction there is a T-beam cross-section with a beam spacing of 7.3 m and a constant construction height of 2.2 m. The prestressing consists of internal tendons . The superstructure has no cross beams in the bearing axes. The spans for the 27-span bridge are 32.5 m + 40.0 m + 3 × 42.5.0 m + 21 × 45.0 m + 37.5 m.
Construction work
The bridge was made with a feed armor.
